This breed is gaining popularity as an amazing meat breed. While mainly used for meat, the hens are also very good egg layers at approx 250+ eggs per year.
They can be processed as early as 16 weeks, but best results are 18-20 weeks after being fed a special diet for the last three weeks before processing.
